The site

Underwater

Entry via jetty. The silty bottom slopes down to a depth of approx. 30m, where the large wall begins and drops down to approx. 42m. The wall features a canyon and partially an overhang of several meters (overhead situation).

Heading towards Rapperswil, the wall gets slightly deeper. Heading back, the bottom edge gently rises, and at a depth of approx. 39m, under a ledge, you will find various garden gnomes and other figurines. Shallow water safety stop / ascent with plenty of fish (depending on the season).
Towards Rapperswil, at approx. 50–55m, there is another small wall with a single garden gnome at its end.

Experienced divers can perform a blue-water descent directly to the top edge of the wall at approx. 30m. Reference point: directly in front of the jetty, looking towards Rapperswil, align the left harbor post with the large chimney in the background.

Dive Routes:

a) Dive along the wall towards Zurich and visit the gnomes at 39m. Then head back up into shallow water, continue slightly towards Zurich during your safety stop/ascent, and return to the exit. In the shallow water, you will often spot pike, perch, pumpkinseed sunfish, and numerous crayfish.

b) Dive along the wall towards Rapperswil. The top edge at 30m eventually ends, and a new top edge starts at 35m. Follow this further towards Rapperswil and complete your ascent/safety stop in the shallow water. Do not dive into the harbor area!

c) Slalom: Descend to the wall and follow it. Then return along the top edge of the wall in the opposite direction before heading into shallow water to finish the dive.

Hazards

Depth, overhangs along the wall, decompression, do not dive into the harbor.

Surroundings

There is a lawn with trees, benches, and trash cans. It is a great place to relax with family, set up a grill, and go swimming via the jetty.

Restaurants and toilets

In the summer months, there is a snack bar towards Rapperswil. Public toilets are also available there. Nearby is also the pizzeria at Küsnacht train station.
